NPHIES
Poll safely and recover a partially processed response bundle
Persist retrieved messages before parsing and resume from durable state.

Before you begin
- Configured poll bounds, supported message types and operational ownership.
- Working durable transaction storage and authorized polling access.
1. Use the configured poll workflow
The case UI exposes Poll NPHIES and the integration flow supports configured limits and message types. Check the deployment’s protocol configuration rather than assuming every environment accepts the same bounds.
2. Persist before parsing
Upstream polling is described as delete-on-read. The retrieved raw response must be durably stored before entry-level interpretation, because another poll cannot recover already cleared messages.
3. Review partial processing
Inspect stored poll cursor and per-entry outcomes. Resume failed processing from the persisted bundle and failing entry rather than blindly retrieving upstream again.
4. Escalate silence or stuck items
Use the configured no-response window, original bundle identifier and support-ticket workflow. Retain poll attempts and timestamps for authorization and dispute evidence.
Queue acknowledgement is not final acceptance
Queued large claims and batch acknowledgements require later per-claim outcomes. Continue monitoring processing and adjudication separately.
Webhook scope
The audited core demonstrates durable outbox/attempt history and NPHIES polling. It does not establish a general customer webhook subscription API; do not configure an invented webhook endpoint.
Troubleshooting
A poll returned success but one response is missing from the workbench
Inspect durable raw poll storage, cursor and parse errors first. Resume the stored bundle through the supported recovery path to avoid losing an already-cleared upstream entry.
