Navigate facilities, patients and services
Understand the changing sidebar and select the correct facility, patient and service context before acting.

Before you begin
- You are signed in with a staff account.
- Your administrator has linked your account to the required facility or organization.
1. Check the sidebar header
The sidebar changes with your current responsibility, organization, facility, location, service or patient context. Read the selected name before opening a clinical or financial workflow.
2. Select your facility
Use the facility switcher when it is shown. The switcher uses facilities linked to your account. A location or service view can show its own switcher and navigation.
3. Open patient work
Within the facility, open Patients → Search patients. Where configured and permitted, the Patients group also includes encounter-class lists, an emergency board and locations.
4. Open the operational area
Use Services for performing-service work. Use Billing → Accounts, Invoices or Payments for financial records. The separate Revenue Cycle group opens its dashboard, work queues, claims, eligibility, authorizations, denials and remittance screens when permissions allow.
5. Use configuration with the right role
Open Settings for facility setup such as general details, departments, locations, devices, specimen definitions, observation definitions, activity definitions and billing. Access to RCM configuration and decision traces is permission controlled.
Why menus differ between users
The source hides or shows navigation according to permissions and configured encounter classes. A missing button can reflect role scope, an inactive encounter, a disabled service or a different context; it does not prove a system fault.
Patient and encounter context
The patient profile is the longitudinal record. An encounter is one care episode. Check the patient and the selected encounter before entering observations, medication, orders, files or discussion notes.
Small screens
The sidebar closes when navigation changes on a mobile layout. Reopen navigation to move between sections.
Troubleshooting
A colleague sees an action that you cannot see
Check the facility, the patient or encounter context and your role. Ask the facility administrator to review the relevant permission and group membership.
The sidebar shows service or location options instead of the facility menu
You are inside a service or location context. Read the sidebar header and navigate to the facility context for facility-wide tasks.
