Open Administer for the intended order and choose On Hold in Status. Review the occurrence, selected order and note before saving. The fictional past example uses 01:02–01:03; this status retains the entered end rather than automatically clearing it. Do not infer an end value from the status name alone.

Select Administer Medicine once and wait for the save to finish. Open the intended 1:02 AM chip and verify On Hold, its saved note and locked occurrence. Independent normal Nurse and Doctor reads confirmed the saved event, correct request and Nurse creator/updater. This is a new documentation record, distinct from the earlier In Progress event.

3. Review Stopped on an existing event

When updating the intended existing record under local policy, choose Stopped in its Status field, record the appropriate context and select Update once. The illustrated fictional event keeps its original 01:02–01:03 occurrence. This is an event-status demonstration; choosing Stopped here is separate from discontinuing the medication order.

5. Distinguish the Cancelled status from discarding a draft

Cancelled is a selectable saved event status. Cancel is the separate button that discards an edit. In the screenshot, Update saves the selected Cancelled status and note on the existing event; Cancel would leave the prior saved status unchanged. Review the intended record and local policy before selecting Update.

6. Inspect the saved Cancelled result

Open the same event after saving and confirm Cancelled, its saved note and retained occurrence. Independent Nurse and Doctor reads confirmed the same ID, five total records and unchanged other four events across the On Hold, Stopped and Cancelled demonstrations. The record was not deleted, and the software demonstration does not prescribe this status sequence for clinical use.

Keep event status separate from other workflows

The event Status field does not by itself change the medication request, administration performer, stock, dispensing, billing or encounter state. The observed full form has an optional note and locked saved occurrence; dedicated reason, witness or verifier controls were not present. The reversed author captions in this version remain a display limitation.
